Poinsettias, Tree of Life, Date for Potential Return to In-person Worship

Hey, everyone. Good things are happening at and through Byers Avenue. Thank you for all you do in support of our mission of “…making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” Here’s some of what’s going on…

First, a couple of housekeeping items…
1. We are so thankful to Gayl Navarro for her donation of the beautiful poinsettias. Although we didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy them fully, we did do our best to keep them healthy through the Christmas season. If you would like to take poinsettias to decorate your home post-Christmas, please come by the church this week and have your choice of flowers.
2. We are receiving baby items through January 4th for Choices’ Tree of Life campaign. Thank you to those who have given items and/or monetary donations so far. If you would like to help out in any way, please contact Linda Stegner by email at

We are looking at a potential return to in-person worship on Sunday, January 17th. Nothing is “set in stone” at this time, as we want to continue to monitor Covid numbers. Still, January 17th is the goal. Again, this date could change at any time. Also, for the first few weeks following our return to in-person worship, we will not have some of our regularly scheduled activities, but will focus simply on the hour or so we have for worship. This means that, for the time being, we will hold off on our Adult Discipleship Hour and Challengers Class, Children’s Ministries, Children’s Church, and Nursery. More information concerning protocols, etc. will be available soon. In the meantime, please contact me personally if you have any concerns or questions. Remember, too, that we will continue to provide on-line worship opportunities during this time as well as once we begin meeting again.

That is all for now. Keep loving God and one another, and, as always, stay on mission. It’s great serving as your pastor! – Pastor Chuck
